Hi everybody!

I just thought I'd invite you all to Wallis Sands after the football game. A group of us thought it'd be fun if we'd all get together afterwards. The beach seemed like a fun spot.. You can bring blankets and such. And bring friends :D

Erm. yeah! Go Band!

Band camp is soon!

Aren't you all excited?

I sure am.

.. Now that I'm not a student, I can yell even more at people! And hit them. .. more than I used to. Er. Yeah.

We've got a loving thing, we've got to feed it right. [20 Jun 2005|09:45pm]

[ mood | drained ]

I love all of you.

I'm going to miss every single one of you to the MAX. I was crying so hard before I got off the boat that I thought I was going to die.

Thankfully I've left you in very capable hands. Greg, Steph, and Kristin are going to make awesome drum majors, and I'm going to be there almost every step of the way to help them out. I don't think Mr. Gagnon realizes that I have every intent of practically being on staff next year. Haha.

Well, it's been fun, kids.

I wish I could stay another year.

Thank you everyone. Times a million <3 [25 May 2005|11:30pm]

[ mood | loved ]

Eight years of band comes full circle.

Sometimes it doesn't seem like I've been doing it since fifth grade. Other times it seems like I've been doing it for twenty years and I just want it to end. The whole thing is weird, though. Of course I'm going to miss it.

For the small percentage of band kids who do read this, thanks for voting for me with the Jani Smith award and all. I was surprised to get it and .. well, just thanks.

Also, thank you to everyone who hugged me, smiled at me, threw encouraging words my way, or anything really. It's so weird to think about where I am right now versus the beginning of the year. I wish I had another year to be with everyone, especially the freshmen and sophomores -- I've had the smallest amount of time with you. Sometimes it seems like I find someone knew every day to make some sort of stupid connection with, and that is surprising and very welcome in my life. Let's not lie to ourselves here -- I'm not the greatest person to get along with sometimes. There are a few people in band who I haven't gotten along with or have had something against for one reason or another. Regardless, I will miss you just as much as I will miss all of the close and best friends I have in band.

It's been an interesting four years. Tiring, frustrating, happy and wonderful. It amazes me that so many people have stuck with me for so long, especially knowing the moods I fall into or the rages I typically go off on. Thank you. So much.

But don't worry. I'm not gone yet. We've still got a couple of parades and graduation to endure. That, and if everything works out the way I want it to, perhaps I'll be sticking around as more than a former-student volunteer next year. Ha.

In any case, thank you

First flight, anyone?

I was walking through the parking lot after the trip meeting and everyone was yelling "I LOVE YOU!" and driving away stupidly and Galen was trying to run me over while playing the ice cream truck music and I realized that I absolutely love band life.

In short, this trip is going to be awesome <3<3

Since I'm posting a lot today.. [30 Dec 2004|07:27pm]

[ mood | exanimate ]

Happy vacation to everyone :]

I was just wondering if any of the other team captains besides Sam got an email back from Mr. Gagnon. I know we were supposed to email him -- and I did -- but apparently he emailed Sam back and told her to contact everyone from her team to see how they were doing on the ad stuff. Hum.

Anyway, how's the ad stuff going for you guys? One of my buisinesses apparently doesn't exist anymore, which is kind of weird, and I haven't gotten around to contacting the rest. In other words, I haven't really had much success in the whole thing.

Just my luck..

... ? [29 Nov 2004|08:28pm]

[ mood | indifferent ]

Is anyone else really sick of the jingle bell march yet? I mean, I know it's easy and makes for quick learning, but isn't there another march-esque Christmas song that is easy and quick to learn?

Oh. Conor and I decided that we're going to call ourselves the "Barisoons" and our slogan [or catchphrase.. or THING WE SAY] is: "We've got wood." And we're stealing the theme from the Incredibles. I want T-Shirts <3

Just thought I'd move away from the aruging.

Auditions.. [23 Nov 2004|07:03pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

I wonder if anyone still reads this thing.

If anyone's there, what did you think about the outcome of the chair auditions? There were a few things that I expected, but some that -- well, for lack of a better term, shocked me. And then there were those that just made me laugh for a few minutes.

Any thoughts?

.Yay. [24 Oct 2004|10:14pm]

Congratulations everyone...maybe we didn't get the gold medal we were hoping for, but we still did a DAMN fine job. It shouldn't really matter which medal we got: we tied for second place with Biddeford, and South Portland got the only gold. And considering this is our second real year of competing? We should all be EXTREMELY proud of ourselves, of our drum major, and the staff. And you know what else? The colorguard are NOT to blame for us getting a silver and not a gold. They improved a lot from last year and they should be commended for that: just one of those nine girls set her flag in the wrong spot. Shit happens. And did anyone think that a four in visual would have helped us, too? That if people actually came to all of the rehearsals and stayed the full length and genuinely cared, we would all know our spots better and display good technique? Some people did, but some of us are too fucking ignorant and just want to blame everyone else. If you blame the colorguard, shame on you. Everyone else, underclassmen, I wish you the BEST of luck in next year's season, WE LOVE YOU!!! God I'll miss it... =(

I am so proud of everyone.

Yeah, so proud that I was crying from the time I got off the podium to when I marched all the drum majors across the field.

I'm such a geek.

But really, I love you guys :]

Play something

It IS a real word! [26 Sep 2004|12:12pm]

Here's hoping to the same thing in Marshwood ...

SO CUTE. [18 Sep 2004|11:18pm]

[ mood | amused ]

the end is toast: OH GOD. I would DIE if we ever played a "Superhero" themed show with the Superman theme, the theme from X-2, and the theme from Spiderman. OH GOD,.a;slmf;ds
qShastaMcNastyp: Die of goodness? Or badness?
the end is toast: Goodness!
qShastaMcNastyp: I suspected as much.
the end is toast: Everyone else would be like, "wft? Band just got GEEKIER."
qShastaMcNastyp: Does not compute.
qShastaMcNastyp: How can band get geekier?
the end is toast: I.. don't.. know.

Um. Yeah. Awesome :]

So, is anyone actually planning on going to the optional rehearsals this week? I'll be there, which is actually really stupid because I don't march. But that's okay.

the end is toast: Aw. That inspired me to post in phsband. How wonderful.
qShastaMcNastyp: Aww....
qShastaMcNastyp: So cute.

.Yay Sucking. [14 Sep 2004|10:35pm]

[ mood | worried ]

Okay...so, how many people are already embarassed about how much we're gonna suck at our home competition? We have 13 hours total worth of rehearsal time, and you've gotta figure that roughly half of that is just us warming up and playing the triad for hours on end, and all we have memorized is half of ONE song. And we haven't even STARTED our drill. Umm...shit? I'm scared, guys.
